HOPE FUND
Immediate Help. Lasting Impact.
Too many young people on Kaua‘i are struggling in silence with depression, anxiety, and thoughts of suicide. Many don’t have access to the support they need, whether that’s therapy, fitness programs, or safe creative outlets. The Hope Fund was created to change that.
Our Mission
The Hope Fund provides direct, immediate aid for Kaua‘i youth who are in crisis or at risk. We remove barriers by covering the cost of essential services that build resilience, connection, and healing. Every dollar donated goes directly to providing resources that can make the difference between despair and hope.
How It Works
Through the Hope Fund, youth and families can apply (or be referred by teachers, coaches, or counselors) for support in areas such as:
Therapy & Counseling: Funding for private or group sessions with licensed professionals.
Fitness & Movement: Gym memberships, Jiu Jitsu, boxing, yoga, weight training, hula and team sports and other programs that promote physical and mental health.
Creative Outlets: lei making, art, dance or music classes that allow teens to express what they cannot always put into words.
Wellness Workshops: Cooking classes, meditation, health coach
Our goal is simple: if a teen is struggling, we don’t want cost to ever stand in the way of getting help.
Why It Matters
On Kaua‘i, 9% of high school students report attempting suicide each year.\
33.5% of Kaua‘i teens report experiencing depression, persistent sadness for two weeks or more last year
Suicide is one of the leading causes of death for Hawai‘i youth ages 15–24.
Too many families feel helpless, lacking the financial means or knowledge of where to turn.
These statistics are more than data points—they reflect real young lives on Kaua‘i who are at risk but may not have the resources they need.
The Hope Fund is our answer. It’s a lifeline of support created by the community, for the community.
How You Can Help
Your generosity can:
Provide a counseling session for a teen in crisis
Cover a month of fitness training that builds confidence and resilience
Fund a workshop that teaches mindfulness, coping, and healthy outlets
Give a young person hope, and show them they are not alone
